Utrecht County Hall
The work done on the new county hall in Utrecht (formerly Fortis’ head office) was a high profile project. A major job split into three components: high-rise building, low-rise building and the State Room. 700 cabinets were manufactured for the high-rise building. For the low-rise building, a reception desk was constructed as well as various service desks, a bar, a restaurant and cabinets. Lastly, the State Room was fitted with a fully raised floor with a stage and tribune as well as two press galleries and six phone booths that were also fully furnished and finished. Each floor was also equipped with a kitchenette and copying units. Acrylate, Corian and bamboo were widely used in this project. Acrylate on the cabinet fronts and facing sides.
